I was first introduced to robotics in 8th grade, and my team and I competed in the First Lego League Competition (FLL). It was at this time when realized that I had a niche for robotics, and it was extremely fun. We worked extremely hard and were able to get to the state rounds. In fact, my team even got on to the local newspaper. I am very grateful to my middle school and FLL to introduce me to such an awesome extracurricular!
At FHS, I moved to a more advanced robotics competition that used VEX components and C++. In my two years there, I moved up to the position of Vice-President and actually led the team through competitions in my sophomore year. In the 2019-2020 season we were able to get 2nd and 7th place at our two competitions, Savage Soccer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Vex Robotics 2019-2020 competition.
At FHS, I also participated in Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), a nationwide business competition. My team and I decided to compete in the Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan, in which we made designs for a system that makes it easier for drivers to park cars. DECA was a great experience especially since my team was able move on to the states rounds, where not only did we present our projects, but we learned a lot about business and professionalism.

I also was part of the FHS math team. We competed in the Southeastern Massachusetts Mathematics League . Last year we came 4th in the final round and would have gone to states, but due to Covid-19 it was canceled. This club was very fun since I was actually able to improve my problem-solving skills. I always looked forward for the math team competitions because it was always fun to problem solve with my friends.
