Language classes at Mass Academy are immersion classes, so we are only allowed to speak in French during the class. This makes the class interesting since Mrs. Wildfong teaches us French in French! In the beginning of the year, it can be uncomfortable to have fluent conversations, but it gets much easier after a few weeks. Every term we maintain a listening log and vocab log. Generally, we are expected to log about 2 listening log entries each week and 20 vocab log entries. The listening log is very fun to do since I can watch my favourite shows and movies but in French, and the vocab logs complete themselves as I listen to more and more French.
I wrote this essay when we were reviewing prepositions. Each paragraph describes a different room in my house, so prepositions were used frequently to describe where objects were located. This was the first essay I wrote in French and helped me improve my syntax in French.
An interesting assignment we had in French was making memes. This assignment allowed us to be creative with the language and also employ humor to make a MAMS related joke. Mrs. Wildfong shares one or two memes made by students each week. My meme is about the moment you realize you forgot to sign in in the morning for attendance.
